We’re getting more details of yesterday’s explosion at the Alderwood Wastewater treatment plant off Picnic Point Road. The explosion happened as a 1,000-gallon propane tank was being loaded onto a truck. The tank shifted, a valve snapped and the propane ignited. Major cuts to Community Transit bus service went into effect Monday. Several routes have been eliminated and others serve different locations. Police are investigating a pair of assaults at two Lynnwood parks. About 10:55 p.m. Sunday, two teenage girls were assaulted at Lynndale Park. About 10 minutes, three boys reported being assaulted at Scriber Lake Park. The nature of the assaults was not released although the injuries were not serious. Latest count shows an increase in homeless population

New numbers show the homeless population in Snohomish County is increasing. This year’s Point in Time homeless count found 2,382 people in 1,401 families without a permanent place to stay. That compares to last year’s final count of 2,273 people in 1,385 families.
