The Lynnwood Fire Department and a hazmat crew responded to a possible chemical spill in a parking lot located at 2617 196th St. S.W.

Lynnwood Fire spokeswoman Julie Moore said tarps or moving pads were in the parking lot giving off a gas-like smell, which was reported to fire crews.

However, the hazmat crew that responded to the possible spill determined it was a non-hazardous material, though what the material was is not clear.

No one was evacuated from surrounding buildings during the hazmat response because it was not determined to be dangerous.
