Everett Edwards, who led the Lynnwood girls basketball team to a state title in 2015, on Monday resigned from his post, our online news partner The Seattle Times reported.

Edwards was at the helm for nine years at Lynnwood and finished with a 163-65 record. He led the Royals to six WesCo championships and four Northwest District championships.

“His impact on the girls basketball program, our school and community goes well beyond the wins/losses,” Lynnwood athletic director Rob McMains wrote in an email. “He is a class act and he will be missed!”
