Lynnwood Police arrest suspects in alleged gang-related shooting Wednesday night

At about 8:35 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 8, Lynnwood officers responded to a shots fired call in the 4700 block of 176th St SW. Police arrived and detained several subjects related to the investigation. After several hours of investigation, officers were able to piece together the following: Several subjects who are believed to be from rival gangs came into contact with each other near 176th St SW and Highway 99 in Lynnwood and a fight ensued.

There were four total subjects involved in this incident, according to Lynnwood Police. The first group included two males, ages 17 and 18. The rival group included a 27-year old male and a 16-year old female. The incident started when the 17- and 18-year old males assaulted the 27-year old male.

During that physical encounter, the 27-year-old allegedly told the female to get a gun from a nearby vehicle. The first two males fled into a nearby apartment complex. The 27-year-old male retrieved a handgun and located the other two males, who had gotten into a vehicle in the apartment complex lot. The 27-year-old male reportedly fired a single shot at the subjects in the vehicle as it was trying to leave. No one was injured as a result of the gunfire.

The 27-year-old male was arrested and booked for Assault First Degree and Alien in Possession of a Firearm. The 16-year-old female was arrested and booked for Conspiracy to Commit Assault First Degree. The 17-year-old male, who was involved in the initial assault and who was fired at, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.

Lynnwood Police wrote a search warrant and located a gun that is believed to be the gun used in this incident.
