Aug. 23
A theft was reported in the 4600 block of 196th Street Southwest. A bottle of alcohol was taken from a store there.

A vehicle stolen from Snohomish was reported found in the 5300 block of 176th Street Southwest.

A rifle was reported found in a garage in the 5300 block of 173rd Place Southwest. A woman said it belonged to her husband, who recently passed away, and she has no use for it, so she anted to turn it in to police.

Aug. 24
A theft in progress was reported in the 20700 block of Highway 99. A shoplifter was seen taking items out of packaging and placing them in her purse. The items were valued at a total of $41.98. The suspect was confronted with an empty package and then held up the unpackaged merchandise and said she was going to ask for a discount because the box was open. She repeatedly said she didn’t do anything, but surveillance footage shows her selecting the item, removing it from the package and concealing it. She was arrested for attempted theft.

A burglary was reported in the 18300 block of Highway 99. A hole had been cut in a fence and something was heard moving around in the bushes. Car parts were found on the ground. A suspect was located nearby.

A vehicle was reported stolen from the 19500 block of 76th Avenue West.

Aug. 25
A theft was reported at a business in the 6800 block of 196th Street Southwest. The owner of the business said an employee was regularly stealing things like cigarettes and lotto tickets. The owner said the thefts happened over several months and that there was video evidence of the thefts. An estimated $10,000 worth of merchandise was taken over four months. An investigation is ongoing.

An incident of mail theft was reported int he 5600 block of 208th Street Southwest.

Aug. 26
A burglary was reported at a business in the 17300 block of Highway 99. An alarm company reported seeing a man inside the business on surveillance video. He was located and contacted by police. He had documents and change from the business .The business said it would press charges.

A burglary was reported in the 6600 block of 196th Street Southwest. A door was ajar and an alarm was sounding, but nothing was obviously missing or out of place.

A vehicle was reported stolen in the 5000 block of 176th Street Southwest.

A commercial burglary was reported in the 3400 block of 195th Place Southwest. Several electronic items were taken, valued at $4,000.

Aug. 27
A vehicle was reported stolen from the 20600 block of 44th Avenue West. A trailer was taken and a cut lock was found on the ground. The trailer is valued at $4,000.

A suspicious circumstance was reported in the 6200 block of 196th Street Southwest. An officer was inside a coffee shop there when a man and woman entered. The man ordered and sat down and the woman took a long time to order. After she returned to her seat, the barista approached the officer and said the woman requested help. The woman then got up and, once out of the sight of the man she was with, motioned to the officer. She explained the man was a driver of a ride share app, and he brought her to the coffee shop instead of to her residence as requested. She said he was “acting strange” and she was nervous because he knew her address. The officer gave her a ride home and told the man his services were no longer needed. A report was made on the app, and a police report was filed for information purposes only.

A suspicious person was reported int he 20800 block of Highway 99. He was found wearing a backpack that belonged to the reporting party. When confronted by police, the man admitted to taking the backpack from a vehicle a few nights earlier. He was booked and released for vehicle prowl.

Aug. 28
A vehicle was reported stolen from a commercial parking lot in the 18300 block of Highway 99.

A citation for carrying an illegal firearm was issued in the 20700 block of 52nd Avenue West. A man was found slumped over in a vehicle and unresponsive. He was taken to the hospital for care and to be administered Narcan. A revolver with two un-fired rounds was found concealed on the man’s person. The gun had no record and the man did not have a concealed carry permit.

A wallet was stolen out of a purse inside a business in the 19500 block of Highway 99. A woman said she had been shopping and left her purse in the cart about three times. She didn’t notice until later that her wallet was taken from inside.

Three shoplifters were reportedly seen concealing $1,000 worth of printer ink and alcohol from a store in the 18300 block of Alderwood Mall Parkway and leaving without paying for it. They were contacted by officers and arrested.

Aug. 29
A vehicle was reported stolen from the 4800 block of 176th Street Southwest.

A shoplifter was reported in the 3000 block of 184th Street Southwest. A woman was seen concealing $596 worth of merchandise and leaving a store without paying for it. She was contacted by officers and arrested.

A shoplifter was reported in the 3000 block of 184th Street Southwest. Cosmetics valued at $63 were concealed and taken. The suspect was contacted by police and arrested.
