Lynnwood utility bills will look different starting in May

Screenshot (35)Starting in May, Lynnwood’s utility customers will notice that their bills look a little bit different. The City of Lynnwood is now utilizing a new, more efficient account software that will simplify record-keeping and improve customer service.

In addition to the new look, utility customers will also have a new account and customer number. Old numbers will be discontinued.

Lynnwood’s new technology requires a new account number for each utility account. Additionally, as a way to streamline and improve record-keeping, each ratepayer is being assigned a customer number. Account numbers are unique to each property, while customer numbers apply to persons or corporations responsible for the utility account. Customers who utilize an online bill-pay system to pay the city will need to update their online records with their new account and customer numbers as shown on their next statement.

While utility rates are adjusted periodically to account for factors such as inflation and essential system upgrades, our updated billing format does not change utility rates. Utility bills from Lynnwood may look a bit different and have new account numbers, but the utility rates remain the same. Customers paying online are reminded to update their account numbers as soon as possible.

If you have questions about the new billing format or your customer numbers, please contact Utilities Customer Service at 425-670-5170, or stop by City Hall. The Utilities counter is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
