The Lynnwood varsity girls basketball team took first place in the 2014 Edmonds Summer Shootout basketball tournament June 13-15.

The Royals went 6-0, beating West Seattle 45-32 in the championship game June 15 at Meadowdale High School. The girls varsity division featured 35 high school teams. Lynnwood defeated 2014 3A State Tournament runner-up Bishop Blanchet (Seattle) 48-29 and Marysville-Getchell 68-34 on June 13 at Lynnwood High School in its two pool games.Then the Royals beat Monroe 45-29 June 14 to each the quarterfinal round.

Lynnwood eliminated Juanita 45-32 and Inglemoor 38-37 on June 15 to reach the championship game. This is the third year Lynnwood has claimed the Edmonds Summer Shootout title. Lynnwood will next compete in the 2014 King’s Summer Shootout tournament on June 20-22 in Shoreline.
