Ribbon cut for new Swedish/Edmonds parking garage

A ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday opens a new Swedish/Edmonds three-story parking garage with more than 350 free parking spaces. Cutting the ribbon are David Jaffe, chief executive at Swedish/Edmonds and Carl Zapora, superintendent at Verdant Health Commission as Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling waits to enter the garage. The construction project began six months ago and finished on time and under budget, Swedish/Edmonds said. Now that the garage is complete, the $63.5 million, 77,000-square-foot expansion work will begin. A new emergency department, urgent care center, outpatient diagnostic imaging center, spacious public lobby and more are projected to open in late 2015. (Photo courtesy Swedish/Edmonds)
