Seattle Times: Lynnwood man accused of raping woman dying from overdose, texting photos of body

Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives say a 19-year-old Lynnwood-area man raped a young woman as she was dying from a drug overdose, texted photographs of her seminude body to friends and then stuffed her body in a box with plans to bury her later, according to a Wednesday report from our online news partner The Seattle Times.

The 18-year-old victim attended a party Saturday night at the suspect’s mobile-home park just north of Martha Lake in unincorporated Snohomish County and died that night or early Sunday, according to the statement of probable cause outlining the sheriff’s case against the 19-year-old suspect.

Her body remained in the suspect’s mobile home until early Tuesday, when it was discovered by sheriff’s deputies in a black storage box, the statement says. Jail records show the suspect was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on Tuesday afternoon on investigation of first-degree manslaughter, second-degree rape and controlled-substance homicide. He is being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.

  1. The moral fabric that holds society together has slowly been unraveling over the past 30 years due to the increasing influence of liberalism. Incidents such as this won’t make the national headlines but thanks to the internet, these stories are becoming more and more frequent and available to the unsuspecting public. Where is my proof? One only has to read the Chicago Tribune on Monday morning for the box office score on shootings and deaths in Chicago; all local news and conveniently ignored by the MSM………….

    1. Francesco, I gave your comment a “thumbs down” for three reasons.

      1. Statistics show that currently, we are living in one of the most peaceful times in recorded history. Don’t take my word for it, do a web search. The only reason why we hear about all the bad things going on is because information is easier to come by, thanks to the internet. Plus, politicians often like to tell us how bad things are, so they can sell us “solutions”. Which brings me to my next reason.

      2. Commenting on how it is “liberalism” or “conservationism” or any other ism’s fault for something is something without listing why I automatically give a “thumbs down” for. It is just another way of saying, “what you believe is wrong and what I believe is right, and that is all”. Give evidence on why you believe what you believe and why that is better. Why exactly is “liberalism” unraveling the “moral fabric of society”? What do you define as the “moral fabric of society”?

      3. Using Chicago as an example of how crime is in the U.S. is very weak point. It is just one city, Lynnwood is not Chicago. Mountlake Terrace is not Chicago. Edmonds is not Chicago. Seattle is not Chicago. Everett, even with the rising number of drug addicts, is not Chicago.

  2. Our moral fabric has been deteriorating in this fashion longer than I’ve been alive, and I’m 54 years old. Oh, and nice deflection by blaming a specific political ideology which I assume counters yours.

    1. Honestly, it just sounds like “old people griping”. You know, the “in my day…” or the new favorite, “Mellinials are ruining everything”.

Yes, society is moving away from the homophobia and racism. It is becoming more inclusive of those who are not white, male, and Christian. You can either come along for the journey or get out of the way. Because we don’t care who sits in the White House, is it happening.
