Ten Edmonds School District schools were recognized with 2012 Washington Achievement Awards.
Presented by the Washington State Board of Education and the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the awards recognize schools for excellence and progress based on the Washington Achievement Index and the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Flexibility Waiver.
A total of 381 Washington State schools are celebrated for being top performers in seven categories: Overall Excellence; Language Arts; Math; Science; Extended Graduation Rate (only awarded to high and comprehensive schools); Closing Achievement Gaps; and High Progress (Title 1 eligible or participating schools only).

The award-winning schools will be honored during aceremony April 30 at Kentwood High School in Covington.
