A serious collision on Highway 99 just north of 156th Street SW injured two people about 9 a.m. today.
The State Patrol says a Community Transit bus was going southbound when a car turned left in front it. The car collided with the bus and two people in the car were ejected.
“Both sustained life-threatening injuries and were transported by medic units to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle,” said Leslie Hynes, spokesperson for Fire District 1.
The first car hit another car, which in turn hit a third car. A 17-year-old driver in the second car was treated for neck pain. One passenger on the bus had minor injuries.
“The collision occurred right around the corner from Fire Station 10, so firefighters were on the scene very quickly,” Hynes said.
The southbound lanes of Highway 99 were closed during the investigation.
