The city of Lynnwood will receive $300,000 toward improvements on 196th Street SW, also known as State Route 524.
The Puget Sound Regional Council provided the money for a project at 196th/Scriber Lake Road (near Big Lots.) The signal will be replaced and turn radius will be increased. Additional lanes will also be added between SR 99 and Scriber Lake Road. Curb ramps will be upgraded to meet ADA standards.
“This project rose to the top on its merits and can not only deliver improvements for the future, but help grow jobs in the near term,” said PSRC President Josh Brown.
PSRC is composed of all four counties, cities and towns, ports, state and local transportation agencies and tribal governments within the region.

Glad this is happening. That is probably one of Lynnwood’s most congested areas.
