Don’t forget Lynnwood’s 50th birthday bash Wednesday afternoon

Lynnwood’s yearlong 50th birthday celebration culminates tomorrow with a big bash at Lynnwood Convention Center.

Many cultures will be represented as part of the theme “birthday traditions from around the world.”

Main stage entertainment will include Latina dancing, Chinese lion dancing, Hawaiian dancing and Meadowdale High School Impressions choir.

Entertainment for the kids will include African drumming, a concert by Recess Monkey, Native American drumming and a Marimba band. There will also be plenty of crafts, games and activities for all ages.

Former Miss Washington Tina Marie Mares will emcee the event and even Seahawks mascot Blitz and Aqua Sox mascot Webby will be there. And birthday cake, of course!

It’s also your chance to write a prediction about the future of Lynnwood to include in a time capsule that will be sealed on Friday.

The party goes from 4 – 8 p.m and there’s no charge to get in.
