5K run for Edmonds District schools draws a crowd to Alderwood Mall

About $40,000 was raised Saturday morning at the Edmonds Public Schools Foundation’s Celebrate Schools! 5k Run/Walk at the Alderwood Mall.

Lynndale Elementary School won top honors for having the most individuals participating in the race. Mountlake Terrace High School won the Battle of the Bands competition.

Hundreds were up bright and early on a sunny Saturday morning to participate in a 5K fundraising run — and a separate shorter run for children — benefiting the Edmonds Public Schools Foundation. All proceeds support students, teachers and schools in school- or classroom-based activities.
