Mother Nature played a little April Fool’s Day joke on the kids at Thursday night’s Flashlight Egg Hunt at Wilcox Park.
The forecast called for chilly and dry weather. But about halfway into the event the clouds dumped buckets of rain for several minutes.
But the rain didn’t last long and the kids seemed to enjoy the games, bouncy houses and balloon artist. Even Community Transit mascot Oxy Gene made an appearance.
The real madness began at 8 p.m. as the egg hunt got under way. Within two minutes, every egg was snatched up.
