A fire that destroyed an abandoned home at 155th Street SW and 48thAve. W. on Thanksgiving has been ruled an arson.

When firefighters from Lynnwood and Fire District 1 arrived at 10:19 p.m. they found the house engulfed in flames. The house was already so heavily damaged that it was unsafe to go inside so they attacked the flames from outside. It was under control in about 30 minutes. No one was hurt.

This was the third arson at the house this year with damage escalating in each incident. In June, firefighters put out a small fire that was confined to one room. Earlier this month a fire damaged a carport area. The Thanksgiving fire destroyed what was left of the house.

Leslie Hynes, spokesperson for Fire District 1, tells us no known squatters lived at the abandoned house.
