Alderwood middle schoolers raise thousands for cancer patients

Students at Alderwood Middle stampeded to help two of their own this past Friday.

With one current and one former Alderwood Middle staff member battling cancer, the 5th Annual “Mustang Stampede” raised thousands of dollars the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

“We surpassed our goal of $8,000 and we are somewhere close to $9,000 with some more coming in on Monday,” Assistant Principal Brian Stewart told us.

In addition to games and prizes, students participated in a run/walk around the school’s track.

If you’d like to contribute to the cause, you can send a check to Alderwood Middle School (c/o SCCA, 20000 – 28th Avenue W., Lynnwood, WA 98036.) Make the check payable to Edmonds School District.
