If you have daughters, you’re probably familiar with the American Girl phenomenon.
The popular doll company is planning to open its first store in Washington state at Alderwood Mall. The flagship store will be located in the Village area next to Border’s.
“The concept they are bringing to Lynnwood has only been done in a few locations around the country. It is a destination use that includes dining, accommodates parties, a doll hospital and the like,” Lynnwood’s Community Development Director Paul Krauss told us.
According to its website, “American Girl encourages girls to dream, to grow, to aspire, to create, and to imagine through a wide range of engaging and insightful books, age-appropriate and educational products, and unforgettable experiences.”
Construction is already under way. No word yet on an opening date for the store.
If anyone is interested in experiencing American Girl before the store opens — check out http://www.americangirlfashionshow.org and buy tickets to the American Girl Fashion Show benefitting Seattle Children’s Hospital. The show will take place at the Hilton in Bellevue, WA on Saturday, March 19 and Sunday, March 20. Showtimes are 11am and 3pm each day and include a full meal. Tickets are $55.
OK, I’ll get right on it!
Next to Borders? Would this be the site of the World Wrapps eatery that closed last year?
Wow, I can’t think of a better reason for me to start shopping at the mall! A store for overpriced dolls! Who da thunk?! Who’s running that mall, Miley Cyrus?
