For those who miss McGrath’s Fish House at Alderwood Mall, another popular seafood restaurant will soon be moving in.
Anthony’s Seafood Grill will be opening at the former McGrath’s building in October. It will be its first non-waterfront location.
“We’re ready to venture off the water to realize the Anthony’s Seafood Grill concept,” said Budd Gould, Anthony’s president and owner. “It’s also most importantly an opportunity for growth to reward our hardworking team members with new management opportunities and to bring 125 full- and part-time jobs to Lynnwood.”
The restaurant will have 8,200 square feet of inside dining space and another 750 square feet of outdoor space.
Anothony’s says this off-the-water dining concept marks a new direction for future locations.
Another popular local restaurant — Blazing Onion Burger Company — will be opening next door this summer.
This story sounds fishy to me.
This is no fish tale.
Holy mackerel! I hope Anthony’s nets some profits, and keeps from going under water like McGrath’s did.
McGrath’s went under partly because of a lack of attention to detail. The very last time we went there were more than 20 huge dead flies all over the window sill. When we asked someone to come out and remove the little corpses, no one would. One of them wasn’t dead, and wound up landing on my father-in-law’s plate. The food was always good, but I lost my desire to go there after that.
I was certain it was going to be another burger joint.
Where exactly is “next door”? Is Anthony’s taking up the whole McGrath’s building or is part of it going to be Blazing Onion? Or is Blazing Onion going where Ruby’s was? This is very vague.
Sorry it wasn’t clear. Yes, Blazing Onion is taking over the former Ruby’s space: https://www.lynnwoodtoday.wpengine.com/2011/01/19/blazing-onion-technology/

That is too bad because Anthony’s does truly suck. Overpriced and semi-ok food.
