Police have arrested a Lynnwood man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run on Highway 99 and 172nd last Thursday night.
The 62-year-old male victim was crossing the street about 10:30 p.m. when he was struck. He later died at Harborview. Witnesses say after the collision, the driver made a U-turn and took off in the other direction.
After receiving several tips, detectives located the suspect’s vehicle at a home in south Lynnwood on Saturday. They say it appeared that it had been in a serious collision.
After further investigation, Monday afternoon they arrested a 29-year-old man with a long criminal record who lived at the home. He was booked on a charge of felony hit-and-run.
Members of department’s patrol, traffic, special operations and criminal investigations division all took part in the investigation.
