A 12-year-old boy from Lynnwood was hurt today when his bike collided with a police car in Edmonds.
The Edmonds officer was on patrol near 210th Street SW and 76th Avenue West just after 2:30 p.m. He was stopped at a stop sign and as he began to turn right, the boy riding on the sidewalk tried to stop. He slid into the roadway where his bike collided with the right front tire of the patrol car.
The boy suffered a minor leg injury. He was released from the hospital later in the afternoon.
Lynnwood police will lead the investigation. The Edmonds officer is a 12-year veteran of the force.
