The Borders store at Alderwood Mall is slated to be closed as the company goes through Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The company says it’s serving customers as usual, including honoring its Borders Rewards program, gift cards and other customer programs. It also expects to make employee payroll and continue its benefits program.

The Lynnwood store was identified as one of several under-performing stores to be closed — which is expected to happen in the next several weeks.

The only other store in Washington that will close is in Gig Harbor.
