A 5-year–old boy has burns over a significant portion of his body after a fire started when he was playing with fingernail polish remover and a lighter.
Fire and medic crews responded to the boy’s apartment in the 19700 block of 68th Ave. W at about 10 a.m. on Wednesday. They found him with potentially life threatening burns and immediately took him to the burn unit at Harborview Medical Center.
Currently, the boy is still in critical condition. Lynnwood Police and the Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating.
The boy’s mother was home at the time of the incident.
