Lynnwood overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to tie the score late in the fourth quarter but Monroe ultimately prevailed 68-62 in a Wesco 4A boys basketball game Tuesday night at Monroe High School.
The Royals battled back in the second half to tie the score at 63 but the Bearcats made free throws at the end of the game to pull out the victory.
Lynnwood was led by Cordell Smith, who scored 12 points. Teammates David Vo and Tyler McArthur each added 10 points. Jake Taschner, Patrick Smith and Bryce Milne each had 9 points for the Royals, who fell to 3-5 in the league and 4-9 overall.
Lynnwood hosts Arlington at 7:15 p.m., Friday, Jan. 17.
