Boys tennis: Meadowdale downs Glacier Peak 5-2

Meadowdale got wins from its No. 1 and No. 2 singles players and its top two doubles teams en route to a 5-2 victory over Glacier Peak in Wesco 3A boys tennis match Wednesday at Meadowdale High School.

Meadowdale’s Nick Ekern rallied to beat Patrick Luangrath 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 1 singles match. Teammate Bret Matysik defeated Tucker Davis 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

Quint Turner/Mark Steinke upended Ethan Jones/Jack Wygant 6-0, 7-6 (7-3) and Justin Ridley/Bennett Holton beat Andrew Kim/Peter Vizzoni 6-3, 5-7, 6-0.

Also winning for Meadowdale was Lee Bruemmer, who downed Kai Duan 6-3, 6-3.
