Burglar who caused schools’ lockdown apprehended

For those who were wondering what the commotion was about on 168th Street Southwest near Meadowdale High School Tuesday afternoon: According to Lynnwood Police, just after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24. an unknown male entered an occupied residence located at 5500 168th St SW in Lynnwood. The homeowner had a brief confrontation with the subject and then exited the residence.

The subject ignored repeated attempts of communication by police and remained in the home until approximately 5 p.m. when he was finally extricated without injury or incident.  Prior to apprehension, the subject had entered the garage and loaded the victim’s car with items belonging to the victim. The subject is now in custody.  Detectives continue to investigate the incident.

The incident caused a lockdown at Meadowdale Elementary, Meadowdale Middle, Meadowdale High and Beverly Elementary schools.
