Police using new website to help identify suspects

Lynnwood police detectives have started using a new website designed to help identify people wanted for questioning in various crimes.

CanYouID.me was created by Det. Tony Matthews of the Lake Forest Park Police. Law enforcement agencies around the state can post photos of unidentified persons of interest on the website. Det. Matthews says that when Washington County, Oregon police set up the original site, their case clearance rate went from 7-8% to 30%.

Right now Lynnwood police have posted photos of four unidentified suspects on the site — all of them wanted for theft.
