A car caught fire on Tuesday morning after it crashed into a pole near 195th Street Southwest and 76th Avenue West.

The crash was reported at 5:16 a.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, two occupants were out of the vehicle, Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said. The car’s engine compartment was on fire at the time.

“The fire was contained to the engine compartment,” Hynes said.

One patient was transported to Swedish Edmonds with unknown injuries. It is unclear if the patient was the driver or passenger.

Snohomish County PUD was then called in to check the power pole.

“The pole and wires were intact following the collision,” Hynes said.
