Lynnwood is turning 60, and you’re invited to help city officials celebrate with the following events on Tuesday, April 23, at Heritage Park, 19921 Poplar Way.
At 4:30 p.m., join the City of Lynnwood and its partners — the Elizabeth Ruth Wallace Living Trust and the Lynnwood Parks & Recreation Foundation — to celebrate the installation and opening of a new playground at Heritage Park.
From 5-7 p.m., an open house hosted by the city, the History & Heritage Board and the Lynnwood-Alderwood Manor Heritage Association will recognize the 60th anniversary of Lynnwood’s incorporation.
There will be a slide show of historic images, a timeline display of Lynnwood’s history by each decade, viewing of a 1959 Chevy Impala convertible, and museum exhibits and tours in the Wickers Building, Interurban Trolley Car #55, Heritage Museum at the Superintendent’s Cottage, and Humble House.
Refreshments will include lemonade and cookies made from a 1950s recipe.
