The city just released results of a citizen survey that was conducted last year. Among the findings:
- Shopping opportunities were higher than the national average.
- Rate of bus ridership was high, as was ease of travel by bus.
- 90% of homes recycled at least once in the past year, but the city’s cleanliness rated below the national average.
- The city’s snow removal efforts were rated fair, with 32% saying it was good or excellent.
- Residents also gave low ratings to traffic flow, Lynnwood’s overall image and sense of community.
- 84% would recommend living in Lynnwood to someone who asks. 81% plan to remain in Lynnwood for the next five years.
A total of 715 residents responded to the survey. The city says the ultimate goal is to improve services, increase civic engagement and build public trust.
