Lynnwood City Council schedules Public Hearing on proposal to ban shipping containers in residential zones

great dealThe Lynnwood City Council has scheduled a Public Hearing on the issue of the use of shipping containers as accessory structures in residential zones.

The Public Hearing is set for 7 p.m., May 11 in the Council Chambers at Lynnwood Civic Center, 19100 44th Ave W, Lynnwood.

The City is proposing an amendment of the zoning code, adding a definition for “shipping container” and prohibiting the use of shipping containers as accessory structures within single-family and multi-family residential areas. This proposal is area-wide and is not site-specific.

Interested citizens are invited to attend this public hearing and to provide comments, either orally or in writing. Prior to the hearing, written comments may be submitted to Michele Q Szafran, Associate Planner, For more information call 425-670-5408.
