City to hold public hearing on interim regulations that prohibit marijuana operations in residential zones on Feb. 24

The city of Lynnwood has scheduled a public hearing on interim zoning controls that preclude marijuana-related facilities/activities from locating within residential areas on Monday, Feb. 24 during the City Council’s regularly scheduled business meeting, which will be at 7 p.m.

The City Council adopted the interim regulations during its Dec. 9 meeting. The ordinance, on an interim basis, prohibits thelocation of marijuana operations in single-family and multi-family zones.

A public hearing does not need to be held prior to the enactment of interim controls but is required within 60 days of such action. A public hearing was, inadvertently, not scheduled with appropriate notice for the 60-day period. Therefore, the Council will be required to re-adopt the interim regulations following the public hearing.
