City hosting meeting on proposed fire, building and plumbing code changes

The public is invited to learn about proposed changes to Lynnwood Municipal Code Title 9 (Fire), Title 15 (Plumbing), and Title 16 (Building) at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 19 during a city council work session at the City Hall Council Chambers.

Approximately every three years, the state adopts updates to Building and Fire Codes. Cities, counties and other jurisdictions are then required to adopt and apply the codes as amended. The amended Codes adopted by the State are the minimum standards that must be met, while jurisdictions can adopt modifications to address local issues and circumstances, as long as the minimum standards are met or exceeded. In addition to adopting the State Codes, City staff proposes to incorporate amendments.
