City hosting Open House on 36th Avenue West improvements this Tuesday


great dealThe City of Lynnwood is hosting an Open House on the 36th Avenue West improvements from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 27 in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.

This two mile long corridor improvement project is a joint effort between Snohomish County and the City. Planned improvements include additional lanes in isolated locations, continuous sidewalks, landscape features and bicycle facilities. A new roundabout is planned for the 36th/172nd intersection and a new traffic signal is planned for the 36th/Maple Road/179th intersection. The City and County have received a $1,750,000 federal grant to complete design and right-of-way acquisition for this project.

90 percent of the design is complete and environmental documentation is done. The right-of-way phase is scheduled to start in November.
