The LPFD is a municipal corporation that is the owner of the Lynnwood Convention Center (LCC). The LPFD is an economic catalyst for the community through the development of the Lynnwood Convention Center, and the resulting economic activity associated with the LCC operations.
The five-member board of the LPFD provides leadership, vision and oversight of the Lynnwood Public Facilities District so as to provide a valuable addition to the economic vitality of the region and a sense of pride for the Lynnwood community.
The LPFD was established under the authority of the Laws of the State of Washington, RCW 35.57, and Ordinance No. 2266 of the City Council of the City of Lynnwood, passed August 24, 1999. Under RCW 35.57, the City has authority to form a public facilities district for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, maintaining and financing a regional center, which may be a convention center.
This is a volunteer position with a term of four years. The board meets on a monthly basis.
The recruitment and nomination process is as follows:
1. Formal letter of recommendation from the organization nominating a candidate.
2. Candidates shall submit a letter of interest and resume.
All nominations and candidate written materials must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018. A mailing postmark will not be accepted.
