City, Verdant launching new neighborhood walking program, meeting scheduled for Thursday

Walkers

The City of Lynnwood and the Verdant Health Commission are working with statewide non-profit Feet First to promote walkable communities with a new summer walking program in Lynnwood.

A workshop for volunteers is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., Thursday, June 11 at Verdant’s Community Wellness Center.

Volunteers are needed to help lead neighborhood walks and encourage friends and family to get walking this summer.

You can support the vision to get more people walking by attending the South Snohomish County Neighborhood Walking Ambassador Workshop. During this two-hour workshop, Feet First will train participants to share their knowledge and lead walks that inform, connect and inspire people to go by foot. Neighborhood Walking Ambassadors provide people with an opportunity to explore their communities together while meeting new people.

Date: Thursday, June 11, 2015
Time:  5:30-7:30 p.m. (snacks provided)
Location:  Verdant Community Wellness Center, 4710 196th St. SW, Lynnwood

Registration required for this free workshop – space is limited.
