We reported in May that Lynnwood had just developed a new logo as part of a brand campaign to improve its image. The city has since come up with a slogan: “A great deal more.”
Residents who were interviewed by the city’s marketing firm identified that Lynnwood is typically known for Alderwood Mall, and not much else. Officials wanted to change that, saying the city has more to offer –public services, arts, culture, parks, education and a welcoming attitude, to name a few.
The Economic Development Department plans to implement the brand over the next several months.
The $80,000 cost of the branding campaign came out of the 2006-07 budget, before the recession took its toll on the city’s finances.
