Clothes For Kids in line for large donation

Clothes For Kids — a Lynnwood-based organization that provides clothing to needy children — is competing for a large donation.

Umpqua Bank is offering a $10,000 grant to one of three local non-profits as part of its Community Action Campaign to spur volunteer efforts. Voters will decide who gets it. Clothes For Kids is the only non-profit in Snohomish County that’s participating.

“$10,000 would be a huge asset to Clothes For Kids, allowing us to be even more prepared to serve students with fall and winter wardrobes when our store re-opens for back to school shopping in late August,” said Board President Rob Schwertley.

In-store voting is taking place now through May 13. The Lynnwood Umpqua Bank branch is located at 19009 33rd Ave. W.

Clothes For Kids will provide clothing to more than 6,000 low income students and their family members throughout Snohomish County this year.
