Cold weather shelter open through the weekend

Freezing temperatures has prompted the opening of the emergency shelter now through the weekend.

Earlier this year the city council relocated the shelter from two local churches to City Hall due to concerns over inadequate fire protection systems.

The shelter is open to families, women and men. Evening and morning meals will be provided. For those who need this service, meet at Lynnwood City Hall – 19100 44th Ave. W., by 7 p.m. Thursday, 6:30 p.m. Friday, 6 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday.
