Comcast in Lynnwood this week hosted a digital coding day for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County. The event is a part of efforts by Big Brothers Big Sisters and Comcast called Beyond School Walls, aimed at driving digital literacy and tech adoption for local youth.
Comcast has worked with the Snohomish County Big Brothers Big Sisters for years to help provide mentorship, support and education for youth who are a part of the program. This also included a surprise giveaway of laptops to six kids who won the an essay contest.
During the event, Comcast IT professionals talked about their role in developing applications to solve business problems. Then Comcast representatives helped the kids with some basic coding skills and lessons.
