Community Transit fare increase begins today

Fares on Community Transit buses went up 25-cents as of today. The new fares are:

  • Local bus – Adults $1.75, youth $1.25, seniors/disabled/Medicare 75-cents
  • Dial-Ride Transportation (DART) paratransit – $1.75 all ages
  • Commuter bus – no change
  • Vanpool – no change, fares are based on mileage and size of the vehicle.

Community Transit is encouraging riders who use an ORCA card to update their monthly pass denomination for June, or make sure they have enough in their account to accommodate the higher fares.

Also, don’t forget that Community Transit is suspending all Sunday and holiday service starting June 13 because of budget cuts.

“The Sunday and holiday service suspension helps us keep much of our core bus service intact the remaining six days of the week, when ridership is much higher,” said Community Transit CEO Joyce Eleanor. “This is a service suspension and we are working hard to get additional funding to restore that service as soon as possible.”
