A father helped track down his son’s stolen car near Martha Lake today.
I talked to the man named Dave Sunday evening on Larch Way, where one of the alleged thieves was arrested. He didn’t want to go on camera but he told me his son’s Honda Accord was stolen from the Kenmore park-and-ride about 4 p.m. Dave decided to look for the car himself and amazingly found it in a church parking lot a short time later.
He followed the car while calling 911. From Highway 522 they got onto northbound 405. That’s when police caught up with them. The thieves drove onto northbound I-5 at Swamp Creek, then ditched the stolen car near the 164th Street exit.
The female passenger was caught almost immediately. The male driver got away but was found about 3 hours later in the 15700 block of Larch Way.
Dave doesn’t know yet the condition of his son’s car.
