Drama department students from Mountlake Terrace High School, Meadowdale High School and Edmonds Heights K-12 took their show on the road over the weekend to attend the Washington State Thespians Festival at Western Washington University in Bellingham.

The annual state festival draws students from every corner of Washington to attend workshops, display their performing skills, participate in technical competitions, and work together on new theater creations.

At the festival the Mountlake Terrace High School drama department students were one of seven high school troupes to be honored as a gold-level troupe for their efforts this year both on and off-stage. Terrace students Midori Brown and Kyle Henderson also received recognition for the individual performances they gave at a regional theater competition held earlier this school year.

The students from Meadowdale High School and Edmonds Heights K-12 performed on-stage at the festival, presenting song and dance segments from their upcoming spring musicals. The Meadowdale Players will present six performances of “Footloose” Apr. 23-25 and Apr. 30-May 2; Edmonds Heights’ performances of “Big Fish” are scheduled for May 1-3 and May 8-9
