Deputies are still looking the 18-year-old driver who fled the scene of a serious crash this weekend.

An Audi and a Subaru were headed northbound on 48th Avenue West near 156th Place SW north of Lynnwood about 3 a.m. on Sunday when they collided. It’s unclear exactly what caused the crash but speed is believed to be a factor.

The Subaru spun out, struck a parked car and the driver fled the scene. A 16-year-old Lynnwood boy in the Subaru suffered a head injury. He was treated at Harborview and released. No one else was injured in the crash.

The driver of the Audi is an 18-year-old man.  So far no arrests have been made and no citations have been issued.

    1. The 16-year-old was a passenger. Both drivers were 18.

I can only assume that since “speed was a factor” and they were both headed in the same direction, that they were racing. If that’s the case, then if there were any justice in the world, they should be fined heavily and their licenses be revoked for five years each.

  1. People speed and race through this neighborhood all the time. The fact that we are straddling the no-man’s-land between Lynnwood and Everett does not help matters when it comes to traffic enforcement. It is also clear that the illegal racing, peel outs, and aggressive driving is, unfortunately, mostly being done by teens; it is just a matter of time before they manage to kill someone with this stupidity.
