The city of Lynnwood is pleased to be partnering with Clothes For Kids to host a clothing drive benefiting children of Snohomish County.
“Clothes For Kids provides an incredible service to the Lynnwood community and the city of Lynnwood and the Recreation Center are thrilled to assist in this clothing drive,” said Lynn Sordel, Director of Parks Recreation and Cultural Arts.
Clothing bins will be located in the following city buildings: The Recreation Center, Lynnwood Senior Center, City Hall, Police Department, and the Lynnwood Library.
Clothes For Kids needs any and all clothing items for students sizes 4T through plus size teens. All underwear and socks along with most shoes that are distributed by Clothes For Kids are new. Winter coats, summer shorts, shirts, jackets and jeans are very welcome.
The month-long campaign will culminate with a “Stuff the Truck” event from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., June 1 at the Lynnwood Recreation Center .
“Providing clothing to students in preschool through 12th grade allows their families to focus their limited resources in other areas and helps ensure the student has a positive learning experience,” says Nancy Laird-Burris, Program Manager at Clothes For Kids.
“We operate on a shoe-string budget,” added Rob Schwertley, Clothes For Kids Interim Board President. “It is through our generous clothing donors that we are able to continue to grow our services and meet the needs of even more children.”
