Lynnwood mayor, city council forum scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16

MyNNNThe Lynnwood City Council and Mayor’s question-and-answer forum is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 in Edmonds Community College’s Black Box Theatre.

The forum is free and open to the public

Each candidate, after giving a brief introduction, will have an opportunity to address a wide range of issues that affect Lynnwood.

The statewide primary election is Aug. 6. The top two vote-getters in each race will advance to the general election on Nov. 5.

Here are the candidates, the majority of whom are confirmed to attend. Those who do not attend are allowed representatives in their place, but representatives will not be able to participate in the Q-and-A.

Loren Simmonds — current City Council president

Mark Smith — current City Council member

Nicola Smith

Council position No. 1 (nonpartisan, four-year short term and full term)

M. Christopher Boyer — incumbent

Council position No. 2 (nonpartisan, four-year term)

James R. (Jim) Smith

Council position No. 3 (nonpartisan, four-year term)

The event is sponsored by Edmonds Community College, the Snohomish County League of Women Voters, and Sno-Isle Libraries. The Black Box Theatre is located at 20000 68th Ave. W. in Lynnwood.
