Edmonds Community College schedules annual Open House

Edmonds Community College’s annual Open House will be from 6-8 p.m, May 14, in Woodway Hall 202 on campus.

Edmonds Community College provides many educational opportunities, including:

More than 40 professional/technical programs that keep pace with the real needs of regional employers;

Two-year degrees for transfer students seeking bachelor’s degrees — with a choice of classes in more than 30 fields in social sciences, mathematics, humanities, and science;

More than 200 online classes, and;

Adult basic education programs.

In addition, since 1975 Edmonds Community College has partnered with Central Washington University to allow students to complete their first two years of a bachelor’s degree at Edmonds Community College. They can then remain on campus to complete their bachelor’s degree at CWU-Lynnwood, located in Snoqualmie Hall, a shared building with CWU-Lynnwood that opened in 2002.

At the Open House, students can learn more about admissions and registration, university transfer degrees, job training and career programs, on-campus housing, internships, financial aid, scholarships, athletics, studying abroad, and how to balance school, work, and the rest of their lives. Attendees will also have the opportunity to see live demonstrations, including a robot built by one of the college’s students, in addition to a science demonstration.

At the event individuals can hear from current students and ask questions, browse campus resource tables, and get information on what to study and how to enroll. There will be refreshments and door prizes.

Also on May 14, there will be a Housing BBQ and Tour from 3-6 p.m. in the Community Room of Rainier Place, a residence hall on campus. People can learn about housing options while attending Edmonds Ccmmunity College, take a tour, and meet staff and current residents.
