Six Edmonds School District schools have been recognized with 2013 Washington Achievement Awards. Presented by the Washington State Board of Education and the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the awards recognize schools for excellence and progress based on the state’s Accountability Index and the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Flexibility Waiver. The award is given in six categories: Overall Excellence; High Progress, Reading Growth, Math Growth, 5-year graduation rate and English Language Acquisition.

“We are proud of the consistent growth we see in all our schools,” Superintendent Nick Brossoit said, “and our six award-winning schools are models for best practices that make success possible.”

There will be a Washington Achievement Awards ceremony for all 413 honored schools on April 24 at Timberline High School in Lacy.
