The Fred Meyer on 164th and Alderwood Mall Parkway is one of only a few stores in the area set to get electric vehicle charging stations.
“Our customers have been clear that they want to take advantage of the emerging electric car market,” said Michael Ellis, president of Fred Meyer Stores. “We are thrilled to partner with ECOtality to be the first retail chain to offer this service to residents of the Northwest.
About a dozen Fred Meyer stores in Washington and Oregon will be getting the Blink charging stations. Other stores include Everett and Lake City Way.
The charging stations will be installed this summer. They will work with the Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan LEAF.
