Gallery North announces the opening of its annual invitational Beauty of Northwest Show. This juried invitational exhibit celebrates the splendor of our region. This year’s show features 63 works of art created by 41 talented artists from the Pacific Northwest and nationwide. All artwork is available for purchase. The Beauty of the Northwest Exhibit is open to the public, seven days a week, through October 1st through 30.

Guest juror Mike Wise will select the awards for the 2018 Beauty of the Northwest Show. Mike Wise is an award-winning artist who has exhibited his artwork in many national and international competitions. He is a signature member of the Oil Painters of America (OPA) and the American Impressionist Society (AIS). His work has been featured in several highly regarded national and international art publications. Mike grew up an outdoor enthusiast, surrounded by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. He is best known for his rich landscapes, extraordinary coastlines, deserts and mountain ranges as well as for back roads and farmland of the American landscape.
This year the poster art is a painting, “Magic Mosaic,” by artist Emiliya Lane. The Poster Award was donated by Digital Canvas NW.
The Artists’ Reception will be at Gallery North on Saturday, October 13 from 1 to 4pm, awards will be presented at 2:00pm. A second reception will be held during Art Walk Edmonds on October 18, from 5 to 8pm. The public is invited to both these free events to enjoy refreshments and meet many of the artists represented in the show.
